Dorothy Nell Bourgeois

Dorothy Nell Bourgeois, 91, of Port Arthur, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Dorothy was born in Port Arthur on April 1, 1927 to the late Paul Francis Terrier and Lydia Goldie Stansbury Terrier. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Cecil James Bourgeois who she was married to for 72 years; her son, Rodney James Bourgeois and his wife, Mona of Conroe; her grandchildren, Curtis Dumesnil III, Bryan Dumesnil, Andea Register and Kristen Bourgeois; her great grandchildren, Taylor Register, Cameron Register, Bryan Dumesnil Jr. and Lauren Dumesnil. Dorothy is preceded in death by her daughter, LaNell Ann Dumesnil and son, Steven Craig Bourgeois.

A gathering of the family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday March 31, 2019 with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with Rev. John Hughes celebrant. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. Following the interment there will be a fellowship/meal at St. Charles Catholic Parish Center (Hall B).

Memorial contributions can be given to the American Cancer Society.

Although we could never imagine losing the love of your life after 72 years our prayers go out to you and your family to help you through this most difficult time We hope to see you soon.
