Dorothy Christine Thrower, 87, of Nederland died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Cypress Glen Nursing Home in Port Arthur.Mrs. Thrower was born February 7, 1925 in Fred, Texas to the late Chester Yawn and Johnnie Richardson, and lived all of her life in the Golden Triangle area.Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, July 13, 2012 at Melancons Funeral Home in Nederland with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. A gathering of the family and friends will be from 5 to 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home.Mrs. Thrower was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Thrower her father, Chester Yawn mother, Johnnie Yawn her brothers, Earl Yawn, Henry Richard Yawn and Leo Yawn her sister, Cleo Gober. She is survived by her daughters Penny Doehring and her husband Richard of Houston, and Dorothy Richbourg of Conroe her son, Steve Thrower and his wife Mary of Nederland her granddaughters, Carrie Thrower Hirdes and her husband Brad of Houston, and Christy Thrower Mellen and her husband Doug of Beaumont also 2 great grandchildren.
