Dorothy Beatrice Covington

Mrs. Dorothy Beatrice Covington, 89, of Georgetown, Texas passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Tiffin House Assisted Living Facility.

She was born September 18, 1931 to Herbert Lofton and Mary Matthews Lofton.

Dorothy was a lifelong area resident and former member of Stonegate Church of Christ of Port Arthur until she moved to Georgetown, Texas twelve years ago.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Oakbluff Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home of Groves.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Hebert Lofton and Mary Matthews Lofton, her husband, Jerry Covington, son, Steve Covington, two sisters and one brother.

She is survived by her daughter, Jan Droptini and husband Jerry of Leander, son, Ken Covington and wife Shelly of Georgetown, sister, Doyce Krebs and husband Ernie of Fred, brother, Don Lofton and wife Mattie of Fulshear, six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Dear Ken and Jan, My parents and yours were good friends for a number of years. It's that time of life for us, though... my mother passed away only two months ago. As deep as the loss is (the feeling many evenings that I need to call her hasn't gone away yet), I know that you'll find joy in the memories of Jerry and Dorothy you share with your families in the coming days.
