Dorothy H. Criswell

Dorothy H. Criswell, 76, of Groves, Texas passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 at her home. Dorothy was born April 23, 1936 in Franklin, North Carolina to Gordon Garfield Houston and Dovie Mae Southards Houston. She was an area resident for 51 years and member of First Christian Church of Port Arthur. She retired from Port Neches-Groves ISD after working as a custodian for 18 years. She was also a member of Port Arthur- Groves Eastern Star Chapter #953. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Criswell, Jr. Survivors include her two daughters, Della Anne Lee and husband, Boon C. and Cathay Young all of Groves, TX; two sons, Mikel Criswell and wife Julie, Christopher Criswell and wife, Siko all of The Woodlands, TX; four grandchildren, Vanessa Lee, Kathren Lee, Hannah Criswell, and Westley Criswell. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, followed by an Eastern Star Services conducted by Chapter #953 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends will meet at the Groves Masonic Lodge, 5901 39th Street, Groves after the funeral service. Friends wishing may send memorial contributions to American Breast Cancer Association.
