Dorothy Mae Chatelain Fontenot of Nederland, Texas passed away Friday, September 17, 2021. Dorothy was born on March 25, 1945, in Nederland, Texas to Pierre Ogden Chatelain and Pauline Marie Labord. Dorothy was a resident of Nederland, Texas for twelve years.
Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her four kids, grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren making each feel special. She will be greatly missed by all. Dorothy loved all her time working with Express Mart and The Country Market making memories with her customers turning each of them into family.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her father, Pierre Ogden Chatelain, mother, Pauline Middleton Chatelain and her brother, Gene Chatelain.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Catherine Sepulvado Bourque of Port Acres and Dianna Hinton and her husband Tony Hinton of Nederland, Texas; son, James Pruzek and his wife Rhonda Pruzek of LaBelle, Texas and Lawrence Fontenot and his wife Michelle Fontenot of Vinton, Louisiana; grandchildren, Justin Farris, Cody Hinton, Jason Ratcliff, Sheena Smith, Tabatha Smith, Randi Herrmann, Mathew Strickland, Danielle Thompson, Jacob Fontenot, Hallee Fontenot; great grandchildren, Kenzie Ratcliff, Caleb Herrmann, Morgan Sanders, Manuel Ogden, Aubree Herrmann, Veronica Segovia, Dillon Sanders, Colt Sawyer, Maci Herrmann, Finley Sawyer, Isabella Ogden, Chloe Ratcliff, Kashton Farris, Judson Farris and Donte Strickland. She also leaves behind two fur babies, Cookie and Tippy which she loved dearly.
A visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas with a Chapel Service to Honor the Life of Dorothy Mae Chatelain Fontenot to be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland, Texas.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Jason Ratcliff, Justin Farris, Cody Hinton, Chason Ogden, Chris Herrmann and Dillon Sanders.
The family would like to give thanks to Dr. Winberg, Dr. Malani, all the hospice nurses for the love and care provided to Dorothy especially her last few days. The family would like to give thanks to relatives and friends who have helped and prayed for her along the way.
