Dorothy Nicholas Gann, 82, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011 with her family by her side. Dorothy was born June 23, 1928 in Port Arthur, Texas to Mike Nicholas and Elia Touchet Nicholas. She was a lifelong Port Arthur resident and retired from the City of Port Arthur as a Switchboard Operator after many years of service. She was a longtime member of Procter Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards on Thursday with friends, line dancing and making trips to the local casino. Survivors include her husband, Ben C. "Curley" Gann, Jr. of Port Arthur; two sons, Lewis Michael Daws and wife, Roxanne of Port Neches, Keith Alan Daws , Sr. and wife, Karol of Port Arthur; two sisters, Laura Boyd of Groves and Hazel VanDeHoff of Nederland; one brother, Mike Nicholas and wife, Lora Mae of Nederland; six grandchildren, Kelly Adams and husband, Charles, Jr.; Nicole Klingensmith and husband, Jason, Jason Daws, Ryan Daws, Keith "Buddy" Daws and wife, Julia, and Christopher Daws and wife, Jamie; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 6, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Dr. Rick Erwin officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday afternoon from 3:00p.m.-6:00p.m. at the funeral home.

My deepest sympathy and please know that my thoughts and prayers are with Mike and the rest of your family. God Bless and Keep each of you. I read with interest about your Mom and it took me back to those "good ole days" in old PA. Your Mom had a great life!
