Dorothy Aline Hicks, 85 of Port Arthur, Texas went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 7, 2011. She was born on March 17, 1926 in Biloxi, Mississippi to George Levi Harris and Christaminnie Josephine Clark Harris. She was a resident of this area for 64 years and was a member of Trinity Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She was a retired self-employed home health caregiver. Dorothy had many hobbies including line dancing, travel and spending time with family. She will be remembered in our hearts and missed by all. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Lee Hicks of Gordo Alabama and her daughter, Ardella Burrell of Dauphin Island, Alabama. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Brenda Chilcoat of Quinlan, TX and her husband, Kevin; Larry Hicks of Lumberton, TX and his wife, Jane; June Messina of Nederland, TX and her husband, Charley, Jr.; Donna Ozment of Beaumont, TX and her husband, Kessler; and John Hicks of The Woodlands, TX. She also has sixteen grandchildren, Kenny, Aaron and Melanie Burrell , Dwight Chilcoat, Carrie Gould, Erin Maxey, Rickey Hicks, Brad Hicks, Brian Hicks, Lisa Caldwell, Erica Messina, Jamie Crenshaw, Lacey Ozment, Jackson Hicks, Georgia Hicks and Wyatt Hicks; and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00p.m., Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will begin at noon Sunday at the funeral home.
