Dorothy Pate Smith

Dorothy Pate Smith, 86, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born June 20, 1933 in Newton, Texas to Virgil Elwood Pate and Florence Biscamp Pate. Dorothy had lived in Port Neches for 66 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Port Neches and the United Methodist Women. She was retired from St. Marks Methodist Church in Port Arthur after 30 years of service. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church of Port Neches with funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, H. Allen "Bo" Smith, sister, Evelyn Romberg and two brothers, Elwood Pate and Terry Pate. She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Smith of Port Neches, Niki Lege of Nederland and Allenda Savant and husband Doug of Port Neches, sister, Barbara Riley Birdwell and husband Tex of Little Flock, two brothers, Buel Ray Pate and wife Shirley of Mouton Cove, LA. and Mike Pate and wife Susan of Nacogdoches, brother in law, Raymond Smith of Kingwood, three grandchildren, Zachary Lege, Stephen Savant and wife Whitney and Sterling Savant, and great grandchildren, Ella Savant and Evyn Savant.

We've lost a wonderful sweet person who was always there to support our church family. Our hearts are saddened but know she's not suffering anymore. Our love goes to her precious daughters and their families.
