Dorothy "Dot" Elise Blankenship Quigley, 83 of Bridge City passed away on March 6, 2010 at Christus St. Mary Hospital after a courageous 8 year battle with cancer. Born July 9, 1926 in Youngsville, Louisiana to Ozick Simon and Emedia Baudoin. Dot moved to the area in 1948 where she worked at the Texaco Island, and retired as head cashier at St. Mary Hospital. Dot was not only a great mother to four sons, but also a good friend who would unselfishly give to one in need. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Visitation for family and friends will be held, Tuesday, March 9th from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. at the funeral home. Dot was preceded in death by sons, Mark Blankenship and Glenn Parker; sisters, Felicia and Amy; brothers, Alfred, Alton, Alto, Clarence, Galvay and Lovelace. She is survived by her husband, Richard "Rusty" Quigley of Bridge City; brothers, Wallace Simon and wife, Joan of Port Neches, Morris Simon and wife, Anna Mae of New Orleans; sons, Harvey Blankenship and wife, Merle of Beaumont, Dirk Blankenship and wife, Sarah of Huffman; grandchildren, Keegan, Brixey and Jake Blankenship, Lorene Baker and Kathy Parker; step-son, Mike Quigley of Bridge City; step-daughter, Pat Burton and husband, Steve of Austin; step-grandchildren, Jeff Quigley, Lisa Scott and husband, Patrick, Jeremy, Cory and Cody Quigley; and ten great-grandchildren.
