Douglas Gene McCorkle, 61, of Bridge City, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at his residence. Douglas was born on March 28, 1956, in Port Arthur, to Gene McCorkle and the late Shirley Adair McCorkle. Douglas was an instrument technician for Gulf/Valero refinery.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Denise McCorkle of Bridge City; daughters, Stacy Webb and husband, Bubba of Orange, Lori Green and husband, Ihan of Orange and Lisa Brooks and husband, Adam of Lumberton; father, Gene McCorkle of Jonesboro, TX; sister, Vicki Sheffield and husband, Scott of Woodville; 9 grandchildren, Chelsey, Mason, Ethan, Brianna, Izzabelle, Khloie, Gaivyn, Colton and Adalynn. He is preceded in death by his mother.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, November 10, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. The funeral service will be on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. also at the funeral home, with Father Steve Leger from St. Henry Catholic Church and Pastor Frances Schroeder from Holy Cross Lutheran Church officiating. The interment will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
Those serving as pallbearers are Bubba Webb, Ihan Green, Justin Peck, James Peck, Loyd Adair and Jim Adair. Those serving as honorary pallbearers are Mason Henson, Gaivyn Brooks and Ethan Webb.
The family would like to extend a special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Wesley Palmer, his staff and also to Best Hospice, Doug’s nurse, Ryan and Doug’s aid, Sarah.
