Dr. Keith Joseph Delahoussaye

1957 ∼ 2024

Dr. Keith Joseph Delahoussaye

Dr. Keith Joseph Delahoussaye, a beloved chiropractor, passed away on December 30, 2024, in Nederland, Texas, at the age of 67. He was born on October 8, 1957, in Port Arthur, Texas. Keith was a proud 1976 graduate of Bishop Byrne High School, Lamar University, achieved his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Texas Chiropractic College, and was certified in acupuncture from the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture.

Keith was the proud owner and operator of Delahoussaye Chiropractic Clinic, where he devoted his career to improving the health and well-being of his patients. He was a trusted practitioner, and his contributions to the field were felt by many who sought his care.

Keith loved tinkering with anything mechanical. At a young age he loved fireworks, and building and launching rockets. He never met an engine he didn’t want to take apart and put back together. He was a lover of motorcycles, martial arts, a gun enthusiast, and an avid reader. He grew to love gardening and cooking later in life. He loved to give people a hard time and joke around.

Keith was blessed with many loyal friends who were family to him, especially his most trusted confidant and friend, Scott Harrell, and long time companion, Cindy Malina. As his health declined, too many friends to try to name were there for him, calling to check in, taking him on errands, out to eat or stopping by to visit. It’s no surprise that when you are a blessing to your friends, they return that to you in your time of need. Their devotion has not gone unnoticed and is appreciated.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy Joseph and Mary Louise Delahoussaye. He is survived by his brother, Karl Delahoussaye, and his wife, Ginger; along with his sisters, Faye Dismukes, and Karla Barron, and her husband John, brother in law, Danny Dismukes, and many nieces and nephews.

The community will gather to honor his memory with a funeral Mass at St. Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church in Port Arthur, Texas, on January 6, 2025, at 2 PM. The church is located at 6412 Garnet Ave, Port Arthur, Texas and all are welcome to attend.

O merciful Savior, send Thy angels to conduct the soul of Thy servant to a place of refreshment and peace. Amen.

Keith and I met by chance at our Chiropractic College orientation in 1992. When we started school in January 1993 we became good friends immediately. Keith was funny in his worldly way. Always had funny, crazy, things to say. He was a master at the chiropractic adjustment and so many other things in the world. I would tell people, Keith could tear down a building and build it back by himself, doing every bit of the work and still keep giving adjustments at the same time. He was always there to lend an ear when I needed it during school. I have been living out of state for the last several years but would always stop by to see him for the best chiropractic adjustment I ever had when I was in the area. I will miss seeing him. Prayers to you brother. Blazing piziforms forever.

He was a wonderful person and a very gracious man. Although, I’m not in the surrounding area anymore. He was always a good friend. May you feel the grace of God and peace knowing he is home now.

We all have our foible's, lol, that’s one of the reasons I moved to Austin. I have often thought of my cousin Keith sitting on the side of the stage at Bishop Byrne with shaggy hair, oh so handsome and young, with a gaggle of girls with adoring eyes watching him pluck out and sing Stairway to Heaven on those old rickety green steps we all walked down on graduation night. RIP Keith, many who love you are with you now and I know my mama is one of them. You’ll always be singing on those steps to me. With love cuz
