Drew Sauerwein of Nederland, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 26, 2025. Drew was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, on February 19, 1953, to Dolly Stoll Sauerwein and Dean Sauerwein. Drew grew up with his four siblings in Millstadt, Illinois, on a small farm where he bailed hay, fed the farm animals, and drove a tractor. He loved farm life and always wished he could have raised his children on a farm similar to the one he grew up on. Drew was a wonderful, loving husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, coworker, provider, and grandfather. He worked at Mobil, later ExxonMobil, for over 30 years in addition to working many years as a consultant. He thoroughly enjoyed his work at the refinery and had a close relationship with his coworkers. He was a smart and witty person who enjoyed reading books, especially those pertaining to history, and always gave his family a wish list of books before Father’s Day or Christmas that he was eager to read. He deeply loved his two children, Eric and Andrea, and was proud of them and all their accomplishments. In his free time, Drew loved taking his dog, Preston, for rides around town in his Porsche Boxster and for walks. His one-year-old grandson Harrison was the apple of Drew’s eye.
Drew is survived by his wife, Vickie Tingen Sauerwein, son and daughter-in-law Eric Sauerwein and Amy Pinnt, grandson Harrison Parker Sauerwein, and daughter and son-in-law Andrea and Mazi Rabiee. He is also survived by his parents, Dolly and Dean Sauerwein, sister and brother-in-law Debbie and Bill Simms, brother & sister-in-law Doug and Faith Sauerwein, brother and sister-in-law Dan Sauerwein and Kelly Griffin, brother and sister-in-law Dirk and Tami Sauerwein, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dale and Janet Tingen.
