E. J. "Bud" Auffurth, 94, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. Bud was born June 20, 1924 in Port Arthur, Texas to Erwin W.F. Auffurth and Inez Gaignard Auffurth. Bud was a lifelong area resident and member of St. Catherine Catholic Church. He has been an optician/manager of TSO since January 1949 and retired after 51 years of service. Bud was a member of the Port Arthur VFW, an avid golfer and dancer. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Auffurth; two sisters, Lorraine Duplan and Inez Freeman. Survivors include his wife, Eva Auffurth of Port Arthur; son, Mike Auffurth and wife Paula of Port Neches; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend J.C. Coon officiating. Military Graveside Rites will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends wishing to make memorial contributions may send them to the American Heart Association.
