Earl Lynn Broussard

1944 ∼ 2014

Earl Lynn Broussard was born on December 7, 1944 in Many, Louisiana to Winnie and Earl Sherwood. She passed away peacefully on December 18, 2014 at Memorial Hermann Medical Center in Houston. Christmas was one of Lynn's favorite times of the year. As a young child, she remembered spending Christmases in Louisiana at the old wooded homestead with her family. Lynn lived in the Groves, TX area for most of her life. She was a devoted mother to her 3 children. She attended the United Methodist Temple where she was very active in the Relay for Life group, the United Methodist Women and the prayer ministry. Lynn was faithful in sending cards to so many church members to cheer them up when they were sick or to remember them on their birthdays. She also loved the children and youth of the church. She brought stickers and other little gifts to give to the children each Sunday so they would be occupied during the service. She had numerous "adopted" grandchildren in the church. Lynn's hobbies included crocheting, reading, collecting angels and roosters, and visiting with people. She also loved to write. She wrote numerous devotionals for the church. She also shared her writings with many people she met in order that they might serve as inspiration - and they did! Lynn loved life and she loved people. She was full of joy. She shared the gospel of Christ with many. Her kind, generous and selfless ways will be missed by so many. Lynn was preceqed in death by her parents; her daughter, Rhonda Broussard; her sister, Nina Joan Sherwood; and her brother in law, Arlen Rouly. She is survived by her daughter, Robin Broussard; her son, Randy Broussard; her sister, Carol Rouly; her brother, Don Sherwood and wife Margaret; grandson, Christopher Gross; nieces Jenny Comeaux and husband, Scott and Tracy Knight and husband, Howard; nephew, Donald Sherwood; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Temple, 4101 Hwy. 73 in Port Arthur, TX on Monday, December 22 at 4:00 p.m. Under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home. A reception with a time for visitation will be held afterwards. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that monetary contributions be made to The United Methodist Temple Relay for Life group which Lynn so dearly loved.
