Earl Jagneaux

1936 ∼ 2025

Earl Jagneaux, a beloved husband, brother, and esteemed member of his community, passed away on June 15, 2025, at the age of 88 in Port Arthur, Texas. Born on October 22, 1936, in Church Point, Louisiana, Earl was known for his unwavering spirit and dedication to his family and friends.

Earl proudly served his country in the United States Army, a period in his life that shaped his values and character. After his military service, he became a longshoreman, a trade he embraced with diligence and pride. Throughout his life, Earl was not only a hard worker but also a cherished musician. He found joy in playing the guitar and the fiddle, activities that brought both happiness to himself and delight to those around him. His love for music and his generous spirit in sharing it with others made him a vibrant presence in any gathering.

He shared a deeply affectionate marriage with his beloved wife, Annie "Lou" Jagneaux, who resides in Port Neches. Earl is also survived by his sister, Frances Young, and her husband, Floyd, as well as his brother, Allen Jagneaux, sisters-in-law, Judy Philmon and her husband, Mark, Agnes Cormier, and Oliva "Babe" Thibodeaux.  These family ties reflect the close-knit relationships that Earl fostered throughout his life.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Alpheous and Amanda Jagneaux, who provided him with the foundation of love and support throughout his upbringing. He also mourned the loss of his siblings, Bertrella Latiolais, Ruth Cormier, Leola Benoit, and Esther Darbonne, who left an indelible mark on his heart.

The community is invited to gather for a visitation in memory of Earl on June 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, both held at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 2001 Nall St, Port Neches, TX 77651.  Following the service, interment will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.

Earl's legacy of music, love, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His vibrant spirit will be missed dearly, yet his memory will endure in the melodies he played and in the stories shared by those who loved him.

Uncle Earl was my mothers brother. He was a quiet man with a strong faith. My strongest memory of him is his strong love for his wife, Aunt Lou. They were commited to each other and a great example of a loving relationship.

I’m so very sorry to hear of uncle Earl’s passing. My heart and prayers go out to the family especially his precious wife, aunt Lou. My sister Amber and I will always have such fond memories of the times we spent at their home as children. One of my most vivid and fondest memories is picking vegetables from the garden and watching my favorite TV show - “The Munsters” (but only if we didn’t misbehave 😉). Uncle Earl was a true gentleman and I will always cherish the times spent with him as he was truly one of the most kind and loving people I’ve ever been lucky enough to call family.

Mr Allen my deepest sympathy for your loss. You talked about your brother often & with great love & respect.
Judy Philmon June 19, 2025
Earl had two deceased brothers that were left out of the obituary. That was certainly not intentional. They were Henry Sattler and Aaron Sattler. We apologize.
