Earl "Sam" Scrivner, 75 of Bridge City, Texas passed away Monday, June 27, 2016. "Sam" was born August 21, 1940 in Paris, Arkansas to Earl Franklin Scrivner, Sr. and Annie Barnett Scrivner. He was a longtime area resident and retired from Parker Lumber as a saleman. He was a member and deacon of Memorial Baptist Church of Port Arthur, former member of The Gideons International and North Port Arthur Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Scrivner; granddaughter, Brytni Rae Smith; and two brothers, Bill Scrivner and Walt Scrivner. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Judy Hebert Scrivner of Bridge City; daughter, Melissa Smith and her husband James of Bridge City; son, Mark Scrivner of Lake Charles, LA; two sisters, Goldia Beshoner and Joyce Burgess both of Paris, AR; four brothers, Jim Scrivner and his wife Joy of Clarksville, AR, Gerald Scrivner and his wife Judy of Orangefield, Larry Scrivner and his wife Brenda of Paris, AR, Dicky Scrivner and his wife Johanna of Fort Smith, AR; and granddaughter, Alyson Kae Smith. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Bill Fabriguze officiating. Burial will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
