Early Jean Green Ambrose, 66, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, at her residence in Port Arthur.
Early was born on January 27, 1955, in Lafayette, Louisiana to Amelia Rubin Hickman and birth father Charlie Green. She was a retired operator for the City of Port Arthur and a member of the Thriving House Church in Port Arthur. Early loved to dance and often did what her family called “swing out” and dance around the house. She loved to help people especially her family. She loved to attend church and sing in the church choir.
Survivors include her children, Cativa “Bune” Ambrose of Port Arthur and Amos “Moe” Ambrose and his wife Leah Ambrose of Nederland; step-daughter, Joanna Mingo of Port Arthur; sister, Veatta Harrison of Beaumont and Joycelyn Malveaux of Port Arthur; brothers, Johnny Hickman of Port Arthur, Horace Hickman of Houston and Dewayne Hickman of Port Arthur; grandchildren, Kianna Ambrose, Dylan Smith, Jermichael Mingo, Amos Ambrose, Jr., Doryin Ambrose and Laiyah Ambrose; God children, Sharlette Kirks, Shawn Simpson, Chad Lanes, Reginal'Nai Reynolds; best friends, Juanita, Sandra and Deidra.
Early was preceded in death by her parents and her grandchild, Altia Ambrose; brothers, Leroy Hickman, Jr., Donald Woolridge and her sister, Dianna Guidry; her dad, Leroy Hickman, Sr.
A visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Thriving House Church in Nederland located at 9401 Memorial Blvd., Port Arthur, TX 77642 with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the church with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Port Arthur, Texas.
