Edna Lee Cooper, 80, of Rose City, Texas passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 with her loved ones by her side. She was born on July 12, 1938 in Zavalla, Texas, the 4th of 9 children born to the late William Robert Weeks and Lila Mae Stringer Weeks. Edna lived in Nederland for 39 years
Those left to cherish Edna’s memory are her daughters, Marsha Morgan and her husband, Glynn of Nederland, Sherri Cooper of Port Neches, and Donna Russo and her husband, Kenneth of Rose City; her sons, Kerry Cooper and his wife, Nancie of Nederland and Bryan Cooper and his wife, Laurie of Georgetown; her grandchildren, Heather Cooper, Derrick Cooper, Justin and Marie Wright, Matthew Wright, Michelle and Jonathan Rivera, Blake Morgan, Chance Cooper, Tallie Cooper, Rylee Cooper, and Lileigh Cooper; her great-grandchildren, Colton Collins, Raelee Voges, Camden Cooper, Avery Cooper, Katherin Rivera, Mason Wright, and Alyssa Wright; and her brothers and sisters, John E. Weeks of Channelview, Blanch Lefler of Hudson, Samuel B. and Tina Weeks of Dove Creek, CO, Rachel Creamer of Wauconda, IL, Joyce and Johnny Phillips of Huntington, Frances and Winston C. Roach of Breckenridge, and Rebecca Pitre of Huntington; also numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Huel B. Cooper, and her brother, William B. Weeks.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
