Edward Dayton MacMurtrie, 82, of Port Neches, Texas died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Harbor House in Beaumont, Texas. Edward was born May 3, 1932 in Montgomery, New York to Margaret and Dayton MacMurtrie. He received a degree in chemistry from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. He worked for Texaco and was transferred from Beacon, NY to Port Arthur in 1963. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. Port Arthur area has been his home for over 40 years. His hobbies included working in the yard and tending to his garden. He was preceded in death by his sister Pearl and husband Albert and parents all of Sarasota, Florida. He is survived by his wife Helen, sons Gary and wife Susan, Kevin and wife Norma, grandchildren Derek and Chelsea, and great grandchild Juliet. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home Port Neches. There will be a private ceremony at a later date.
