A proud veteran, Edward honorably served in the United States Marine Corps, embodying the values of discipline and dedication that characterized his entire life. After his military service, he embarked on a successful career as an operator for the Mobil Oil Company, where he was respected for his work ethic and reliability.

Edward was married to his beloved wife, Marilyn Yancey, for 60 wonderful years before her passing. Their shared journey was filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew them. Together, they nurtured a family that grew to encompass not only their children but also the values of kindness and resilience they instilled in them.

He is survived by his devoted daughter, Jennifer Batchelor, and her husband, Warren, of Nederland,Texas; as well as his son, Wayne E. Yancey, and his wife, Gayle, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Edward leaves behind a legacy of love and support that will be carried on through his family.

Edward's parents, John and Katherine Yancey, have also preceded him in death, marking the end of an era in which he learned the importance of perseverance, responsibility, and camaraderie.
