Elizabeth Betty Jane Wead, 72, of Nederland went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2013. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Carriere on April 14, 1941 in Eunice, LA. She married her love, Milford Hollis Wead in 1958. Elizabeth lived a legacy of love. She was passionate to care for others in prayer. She was a Sunday School Teacher at Nederland First Assembly of God for years and Womens Railroad Auxiliary member. She was a member Magnolia Assembly of God in Port Neches. Funeral services will be held at Melancons Funeral Home in Nederland on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Frank Williams and Rev. Brent Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Elizabeth is survived by her husband two children, Teresa Mazzara and husband, John and Milford Bub Wead, Jr. two grandchildren, Hollie Crowley and Courtney Wallace four greatgrandchildren, Paytin, Rowdy, Gracie, and Lyren four sisters, Laura Steele, Linda Tatman, Mary Duplechain, and Helena Burleigh. She is preceded in death by her parents, Azama and Andrew Carriere sister, Lucy Arnaud two brothers, Rodney and Ivan Carrier and her granddaughter, Nicole Mazzara. KNOWN BY MANY LOVED BY ALL

Brother Wead, Bubba and Teresa I am sorry for your loss. Sister Wead was a very sweet lady. She poured the Word into me as young boy in Sunday School. Her love for the Lord and those she taught has been a major inlfuence in my life, and carries me to this day. She played a great role in laying the foundation of Gods Word in my heart. Betty was a true prayer warior and one of the examples I could have had the pleasure of knowing. She lead me to the Lord over 27 years ago and I still remember the prayer she prayed for me on that day. Mawmaw, I miss you and love you. There are so many things that I can remember about you: our tastetests in the kitchen, our trips to the library where you let me drive, Our trips to Illinois where you would be very cautious of me wanting to go swimming, singing in the piano room where where Hollie and I just basically banged on the piano keys.
