Elizabeth Ann Brunow

July 19, 1926 — November 7, 2010

On November 7, 2010, Elizabeth Ann Brunow passed peacefully into God's arms. She was born on July 19, 1926 in Port Arthur, Texas to Francis Lance and Alfreda Joffrion. She was the 2nd born of 7 children( 5 girls and 2 boys). She was a lifelong Port Arthur resident and spent her childhood during the Great Depression, attending St. James Catholic School until 1944 when she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. She worked for Dr. Spring Nether as a dental hygienist assistant until July 16, 1946 when she married our father, her loving husband, Gunther Harry Brunow, Jr. They celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary on July 16, 2010. After and while raising two daughters, Victoria Elizabeth, and Johnnie Arlene she devoted her life to her family, St. James Catholic Church and the rescue of cats. She was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary, the Benevolent and Patriotic Order of Does, in addition to this she was an Altar Society member. She also loved traveling the U.S. and other areas of the world. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Lance and Alfreda Joffrion; three sisters, Dorothy Collins, Evelyn "Singie" Swan, and Margaret Able; one brother, Ricky Joffrion. Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Gunther Harry Brunow, Jr. of Port Arthur, TX; two daughters, Victoria Elizabeth Brunow of La Veta, CO and Johnnie Arlene Brunow of Denver, CO; one sister, Frankie Waller of Groves, TX; one brother, Jimmy Joffrion of Groves, TX. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 13, 2010 at St. James Catholic Church with Reverend J. C. Coon officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 4:00p.m.-6:00p.m. with a Rosary Service conducted at 5:00p.m. at the funeral home.
