Elizabeth Ann Metcalf of Nederland passed away, Saturday, October 4, 2014 at her residence in Nederland. She was born August 30 1950 in Port Arthur, to the late Wilson Sonnier and Dorothy Simoneaux. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, James Metcalf of Nederland; daughter, Jamie Davenport and her husband John of Port Arthur; sons, Jared Metcalf and his wife Kara of Houston, and Adam Metcalf and his wife Courtney of Austin; step-daughters, Julie Karpenko of Port Neches, and Jill Pitre and her husband Adam of Port Neches; sister, Shirley Hebert and her husband Lloyd of South Carolina; brothers, W.J. Sonnier of Tyler, and Sidney Sonnier of Port Acres; nine grandchildren, Kayla, Brooke, and Luke Pitre, Chase and Jordan Whitworth, Maddie, Avery, and Elle Metcalf, and Benjamin Davenport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at St Charles Catholic Church in Nederland with Rev. Kevin Badeaux officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the directions of Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. A gathering of the family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm Tuesday with a rosary to be held at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Rachel, Kendra, Laguinta, and Virginia at AMED Hospice for the care giving to Elizabeth during her time of need.
