Elizabeth Christina Wilburn, a cherished mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, in Nederland, Texas. Born on June 24, 1939, in Nederland, Texas, she dedicated her life to her family and friends, embodying kindness and devotion that radiated from her heart.
Elizabeth was the beloved daughter of the late William and Geraldine Rauwerda. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Bob Wilburn, as well as her sisters, Adriana McManus, Geraldine Roetschke, and Anna Catherine Van Marion. Elizabeth also mourned the passing of her partner, Garland Franks, and her cherished little Yorkie, Cody.
In her lifetime, Elizabeth embraced the joys of being a grandmother, and her sense of pride in her family was profound. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Perkins of Nederland, Texas, and her son, Bobby Wilburn and his wife, Alex of Chichasha, Oklahoma. Elizabeth held a special place in her heart for her twin sister, Lucille Lang, and her step-daughter, Beverly Evans of Tarkington, Texas. She was a treasured grandmother to Morgan Whitley and her husband, Waylon, Brooke Perkins, Emily Lindahl, Bobby Wilburn, Jr., Hannah Wilburn, Cameron Wilburn, Jayden Henson, Kellen Mitchel, and Azariah Torrez, and delighted in the company of her great-grandchildren, Baylor Whitley and Weston Whitley. Additionally, her legacy extends to her nieces, Wilhelmina Allen, Christina Akbari, Mona Nickerson, and Dru Castillo, and her nephews, Lyn Van Marion and Jason Lang and his wife, Shana.
Elizabeth found joy in many activities, including gardening and completing puzzles. She cherished playing dominoes with her church team, where her infectious laughter and kind spirit brought unity and happiness to those around her. Known for her unwavering kindness, Elizabeth's devotion to her family was evident in every aspect of her life.
Her family invites friends and loved ones to join in celebrating her life. A visitation will be held on May 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, followed immediately by a funeral service at 11:30 AM, both at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas 77627. a Graveside service will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
