Ellery D. Moore, 87, of Port Arthur passed away at his residence on Sunday December 8, 2013. Ellery was born on March 20, 1926 in Guanaja, Honduras (Central America) to John Moore and Sybil Miller Moore. He was a resident of Port Arthur since 1952 and a member of the First Church of God in Port Arthur. He was a Christian for 48 years and devoted to his Bible. Ellery served in the Merchant Marines and later became a Merchant Seaman. Ellery was preceded in death by his sister, Corriel Moore; three brothers, Sydney Moore, Wendal Moore and Kneeland Moore and granddaughter, Christina Acuff. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 10, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Church of God in Port Arthur with Reverend Keith Beckman officiating. A visitation for family with friends will be held from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the church under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Ellery is survived by his wife of 59 years, Feddie Moore of Port Arthur; son Johnny Ellery Moore and wife, Cynthia of Houston, Texas; grandson Kevin Stanley; great granddaughters Brianna Terry and Elise Acuff and sister-in-law and special care giver Melba Ebanks and numerous nieces and nephews.
