Elliot Paul Romero passed away peacefully Saturday, March 7, 2015 after enduring cancer and treatment repercussions. He was born February 10, 1941 in Port Arthur, Texas to Walter and Wilda Romero. After working 25 years in area refineries and 17 years in industrial sales, he retired in 2003. At an early age Elliot developed a love and great ability for sports. In middle school he decided he wanted to participate in athletics in the Port Neches school district. There he especially excelled in football and was tagged with the nickname "Moose". Elliot proudly graduated from PN-G Class of '59. Music was another passion for Elliot, especially Rock-and-Roll. One of his favorite activities was burning CDs for family and friends. Exploring his Cajun culture and enjoying its wonderful cuisine brought him great joy. Elliot was extremely proud of his children and step-children and the fine adults they became. They gave him his treasured grandchildren eight in all. His favorite moments were spent with them and watching their individual talents. Elliot is survived by his wife of 30 years, Karen Romero of Nederland; his son, Trevor Romero of Longwood, FL; daughter, Tracy Tully and husband Roger of Fair Oaks, TX; daughter, Trudi Pacheco and husband Israel of McAllen, TX; step-daughter, Cheryl Vogel and husband Eric of Leander, TX; step-son, Jeff Pate and wife Maria of Houston, TX; sister, Janice Edwards and husband Don of Montgomery, TX; grandchildren, Ashley Romero, Kacie Romero, Garrett Tully, Kamilla Tully, Alexander Almaguer, Kyle Vogel, Rachel Vogel, and Alex Vogel. The family would like to thank The Cancer Center of Southeast Texas and Dr. V. Patel for their care and compassion. Also, they suggest a donation to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. We also ask that attendees wear Elliot's favorite colors purple, burnt orange, or red. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with Revered Dan Malain officiating.
