Elliott John “Big E” Harrington, 45, of Groves, Texas passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022 in Houston, Texas. Elliott was born on October 28, 1976 in Port Arthur, Texas to Wilbert “Jody” Harrington, Jr. and Beverly LeBlanc Harrington.
Elliott was a Port Neches Groves High School graduate of 1995. Elliott was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception/St. Peter’s Catholic Church. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus-Groves and was a 3rd degree Knight. He was also a member of the United Steelworkers Union, PNG Youth Football Association board member and an active member of the Groves National Little League. After graduating from Lamar Institute of Technology with a degree in process technology, Elliott went to work for the Bayer Corp. before leaving to work for Valero. Elliott was a huge sports fan who loved going to the PNG football games on Friday nights. He also loved to gather friends and family at his home to cook gumbo and watch Notre Dame football, Houston Texans, Houston Astros, and other sporting events. He loved to boil crawfish, BBQ and celebrate life with family and friends at their beach cabin at Crystal Beach, TX. He will surely be missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish Elliott’s memory include his loving wife of 23 years, Heather Harrington of Groves, Texas; his two sons, Easton Tyler Harrington and Jaxon Reese Harrington of Groves; his parents, Beverly and Jody Harrington of Groves; his brothers, Robert M. Harrington and his wife, Leah of Port Neches, Texas and Keith R. Harrington and his wife, Barbara Jean of Del Rio, Texas; his sister, Sarah L. Cropper and her husband, Christopher of Groves; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, Godchildren and friends.
Elliott is preceded in death by his father-in-law, William A. Holmes, Jr.; his grandparents, Wilbert J. Harrington, Sr., Dora Harrington, Harold LeBlanc and Maudry LeBlanc.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Immaculate Conception / St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves of Friday, September 9, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 1:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. immediately following the Rosary. Father J.C. Coon will be the Mass Celebrant. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland, Texas.
