Elmer David Bailey, 78, of Orange, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2017 in Beaumont. Elmer was born in Nederland on July 26, 1938 to the late, Homer Bailey and Inez Daphee Bailey.

Those left to cherish Elmer’s memory are his sons, Jody Lyn Bailey and wife, Susan of Vidor, David Bailey and wife, Annie of Orangefield and Harold Alvarez and wife, Judy of Groves; brother, Jack Bailey of Nederland; sister, Deama Hubert of Nederland; grandchildren, Dillon Chad Bailey, Damon Clinton Bailey, Tasha Gonzales, Michael Gonzales, Julie Hickman and Sharron Lynch; numerous great-grandchildren; many friends and other loving family. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2017 also at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Altus Hospice and The Gardens Healthcare Facility in Beaumont for their loving care.
