Elmer Henry Lee Jr.

Elmer H. Lee Jr., 95, passed away May 23, 2019 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Marion T. Lee, they shared 53 years of marriage together.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana on August 06, 1923 to Julia Darder Lee and Elmer H. Lee Sr., Elmer graduated June 6, 1940 from Samuel J. Peters, Commercial High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. December 17, 1941, he went to work at Gulf Oil in Port Arthur, TX. On October 28, 1942, he went into the Army Air Corp and on January 21, 1946 he was discharged from the Army Air Corp. He then went back to work for Gulf Oil for 38 ½ years and retired June 17, 1980.

Elmer was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for 50 plus years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and gardening. He will be remembered for someone who meant so much and loved by all he knew, who left behind a trail of tears and precious memories. We loved the sunshine in his smile and kindness in his heart.

Those left to cherish Elmer’s memory are his wife, Marion Lee of Groves; his daughters, Janell Reyenga and her husband, Dennis of Fredericksburg, Julie Davis and her husband, Ron of Fannett, and Jeanne James and her husband, Clay of Geneva; his sons, Harvey Loupe and his wife, Linda of Jasper, Dan Lee and his wife, Cindy of Grain Valley, MO, Chris Lee and his wife, Kelly of Cleburn, and Darrin Lee and his wife, Brandy of Beaumont; his grandchildren, Todd Wayne Loupe and his wife, Melissa, Chad Joseph Loupe and his wife, Toya, Christy Lynn Vercher and her husband, Justin, Beau Courtney Reyenga and his wife Christen, Bonnie Elizabeth Harvey and her husband, Brian, Victoria Lea Paul, Mariyah Rose Davis, Savannah Jazmine Espinoza and her husband, Everardo, Amanda Hite and her husband, David, Corey Magnussen Lee and his wife, Kelsey, Heather Dayton, Holly Davis and her husband, Steven, Eysha Jade and her husband, Packwood, Calvin Albert Lee, Mallorie Theresa Snyder and her husband, Travis, Madalyn Coreen Lee, Marlie Elaine Lee, Jessika James Eoff and her husband, Shane, and Maegan James; and 34 great-grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland with a Rosary being recited at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves on Monday, May 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves
