Elvira Lege, 84, of Groves, Texas passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Calder Woods in Beaumont, Texas. Elvira was born February 7, 1933 in Lockhart, Texas to Frank L. Ramirez and Josephine P. Pastrano Ramirez. She was a resident of Groves for 50 years and was a seamstress for Landry Cap Company for 37 years. She also worked as a nurse's aid. Elvira was a longtime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society and Senior Citizen Club. She was also a member of Groves Senior Citizen and Groves Beautification Committee. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Gilbert Lege of Groves; daughter, Desir Lege Chandler of Irvine, CA; sons, Craig A. Lege and his wife Lisa of Groves, G. Curtis Lege and his wife Leslie of Crossville, TN; sister, Minerva "Minnie" Rodriguez and her husband Jesse of Dallas; sisters-in-law, Annie Ramirez of Houston and Luz Coons of Port Arthur; grandchildren, Joshua Lege, Corey Lege, Paula Jean Chase, Jessica Matos, Marisol Chandler, and R. Michael Chandler; great-grandchildren, Anna Lege, Troy Lege, Dane Lege, Tyler Chase, Matthew Chase, and Joya Chase. A visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary Service at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 27, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend Urbano Saenz officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
