Ercie Clifford, 84, of Nederland, Texas passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020. Ercie was born April 30,1936 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late William Kendrick and Effie Kendrick Merrell. Ercie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and great-grandmother. She was passionate about her church and had a love for babies. Ercie was an avid reader and enjoyed watching western movies and crime stories. She was a loving person with an infectious smile and gave the most loving hugs and anyone who came in contact with her, loved her. She loved telling her family and friends wild crazy stories. She had a love for cooking and baking.
Ercie was preceded in death by her parents, William Kendrick and Effie Freeman Merrell; husband, James T. Clifford; sons, Dennis Hibbard and Michael Hibbard; brothers, Frank Kendrick, William Kendrick and Neil Merrell.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Linda Lissal and her husband, Bobby; Kandie Thomas, Tim Hibbard, Terri Smith and her husband, Lee; Sharon Nelson, Misty Grider and her husband, Aaron; Dawn Rose, Tracey Hanson and her husband, Henry; Penny Campbell; Frank Clifford; 34grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Bill Kendrick, Don Kendrick, Warren Merrell and Ron Kendrick; sister, Doris Colvin and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
