Eric Acevedo, 28, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on July 17, 2012 at his home. He was born in Brownsville, Texas on July 18, 1983 to Felipe and Olivia Rodriguez Acevedo.Funeral services will be held at Melancons Funeral Home in Nederland on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Eloy Castro officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Port Arthur. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the funeral home.Eric is survived by his parents, Felipe and Olivia Acevedo of Port Arthur sister, Cynthia Gonzales of Port Arthur 5 brother, Felipe Acevedo, Jr., Ernie Acevedo, Eleazar Acevedo, Edelmiro Acevedo, and Elio Acevedo, all of Port Arthur and several nieces and nephews.

Eric and his family were always nice to me and didn't hesitate to help me when I was down on my luck. Eric always ask me to go to church with him. He helped me find work too

Dear Family,I was really shocked at the passing of our Eric. He loved to laugh and make friends on our road trips to Beaumont. I had high hopes for him and he will get even more at home in heaven I feel it a privilidge to have known Eric and wish we could had talked Spanish more. I know you hearts are hurting and Olivia, as a mom, I know your hurt is not going away anytime soon. I dont know a good time to call but I would love to see the gravesite and spend a moment there with my road dog as he called himself. Sincerely, Dena
