Ernesto “Neto” Escareno, 40, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away December 14, 2021. He was born on November 16, 1981 in Port Arthur, Texas to Jorge Alberto Escareno and Rosario Zamora Escareno. Ernesto was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur and loved attending other churches in the area. He was smart, caring, and a hard worker. A great father who loved the outdoors, nature, and spending time with his family. He was a master of all crafts and enjoyed creating new things.

Those left to cherish Ernesto’s memory are his mother, Rosario Escareno of Port Arthur; his wife, Johanna Gonzalez of Port Arthur; his children whom he loved with all his heart, Elianna Escareno, Ernesto Aaron Escareno, Damian Escareno, and GianCarlo Escareno; and his brother, Marco Antonio Escareno of Port Arthur. He is preceded in death by his father, Jorge Alberto Escareno and his brother, Simon P. Escareno.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
