Ethan Hitt, 19, of Port Neches, Texas passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, in Port Arthur, Texas.
Ethan was born on Misawa Air Force Base in Japan on March 3, 2003, to Pam Self and Jerid Hitt. Ethan loved learning about history and enjoyed teaching others as well. He and his family would go to the Renaissance Festival every year. Ethan loved animals and enjoyed playing video games and watching the Texas Rangers. He was the eldest of seven and was the “best big brother ever” as his siblings would say, always looking out for them and guiding them. He was always ready with a wonderful laugh and bright smile.
Survivors include his parents and step-parents, Pam Self and her husband Mike Shost of Port Neches and Jerid Hitt and his wife Jolene of Kimberly, Wisconsin; siblings, Joy Shost, Kira Hitt, Derek Shost, Johnathan Hitt, Devon Shost all of Port Neches and Collin Hitt of Kimberly, Wisconsin; grandparents, David and Sharon Self, Paul and Teresa Hitt, Pam Crowley and Steven Schimmers and his wife Laurine; great grandmother, Betty Ellis; several aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Melancon Funeral Home with a “Celebration of Life” Memorial Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. to Honor the Memory of Ethan Hitt. Private cremation services will take place at a later date.
