Ethel Mae Champagne, 86 of Bridge City, formerly of Port Neches, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 in Port Arthur.

Ethel was born in Beaumont on May 2, 1932 to the late, Benjamin Choate and Sylvia Fabiquez.

Ethel worked for Port Neches Independent School District for twenty-seven years.

Those left to cherish Ethel’s memory are her children, Kenneth and wife, JoAnn Champagne of Kountze, and Penny and husband, Randy Becker Sr. of Bridge City; her grandchildren, Elise Becker; Katie Jones; Jessica Jones and her husband Jake; and Randy Becker Jr. and his wife Jamie; her great grandchildren, Destiny and Canaan Jones, Addyson and Jaxson Jones, and Maverick Becker; she is also survived by nieces, nephews, and close friends. She will be missed and loved by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Ethel is preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, John Ray Champagne; four sisters and one brother.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Tuesday morning, June 5, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a service to begin at 11:00 a.m.
