Aunt Ethel will always hold a special place in my heart. While attending my first year of school in the U.S., I was fortunate enough to stay with her. She welcomed me into her home and treated me as her own. I'll never forget having worship every morning with her and Uncle Heber before going to school. At the time I had no idea how much her actions would impact me in the years to come. Aunt Ethel was very talented, and I especially enjoyed her good cooking. She always packed me the best school lunches. When she wasn't preparing potluck for church, she was preparing a feast similar to that of Thanksgiving dinner, except we were fortunate enough to enjoy it every Saturday at her home. She enjoyed serving others and spending time with them. One of my favorite desserts was her coconut pie. She always went above and beyond for me; from baking birthday cakes, and taking me to pathfinders and camp-outs. I'm so thankful the last time I saw aunt Ethel I was able to personally thank her for all that she did for me. It's been a privilege and honor to call her my aunt. I'm forever grateful for the time we had together and I look forward to seeing her again on that glorious day.

I didn't have much time to get to know her as I was a very young child when she moved to the USA, but I do have a few loving memories of her from hearing stories about her from Aunt Leta(deceased), and others. May all of you keep her memories in your hearts and remember that Jesus's coming is just around the corner when we shall all meet again to never part again.

Aunt Ethel was truly a jewel of a woman. Loved the children and would sing her little Sabbath song as they came into Sabbath School. She always had a smile on her face. A true Christian that shone brightly to all who knew her. May she rest in peace until Jesus comes for us. My deepest condolences and sympathy for her family. It was a privilege to know her.

Every time I think of her I smile. she had the kind of love and generosity that surrounded you, I don't think I ever stepped a foot into her home and was not offered something to eat or drink. She was such a wonderful cook, seamstress and teacher. I will always remember her wonderful smile, her happy laugh and her funny sayings. My heart goes out to her children Rhonda, Penny, Ricky and Jeannine as well as the rest of her family. The list is endless of those she loved and I am very blessed to have been one of them.

Ethel Rebecca Wood PHILLIPS was THE AUNT OF ALL AUNTS! My siblings and I loved her dearly. She was not only an Aunt, but was also regarded as our SECOND MOTHER! She loved and protected us the same as she did her very own children. I look forward to the day when we shall ALL walk the streets of gold together accompanied by JESUS HIMSELF!
