Eugene Carpenter

Eugene Carpenter, 80, of Port Neches, passed away, Friday, May 17, 2013 at his home. He was born August 26, 1932 in Monticello, Arkansas to Thomas and Jenette Shockley Carpenter. Eugene had lived in this area since 1970 and was a member of First Baptist Church Port Neches. He was a retired electrician and member of IBEW Local #341. He was a United States veteran serving in the Navy from 1953 1955. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Port Neches with Dr. David Mahfouz officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Carpenter. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Schroeder and husband, Roger of Brenham, TX., three sons, Derwood Carpenter of Port Neches, TX., David Carpenter and wife, Heather of Spurger, TX., and Chris Carpenter of Central Gardens, TX., eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
