Eugene Everest Cegielski, 76, of Groves, Texas passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 at Crest Care Nursing Home in Longview, Texas. Eugene was born February 7, 1936 in Chappell Hill, Texas to Joseph and Monica Cegielski. He was a resident of this area for 40 years and longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Eugene was the retired manager of Hancock Fabrics and a U. S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Leslie Cegielski of Groves; daughters, Lisa Eakin and husband, Randy of Groves, Laurie Loyacano and husband, Mark of Port Arthur; son, Joe Eugene Cegielski and wife, Rosa of Groves; brother, Alfred Joseph Cegielski and wife, Lanelle of Houston; seven grandchildren, Chris, Justin, Jaclyn, Caitlin, Courtney, Dylan and Abbey. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with a Vigil service at 6:00 p.m. conducted by Deacon Steven Obernuefemann at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves with Reverend Monsignor Kenneth Greig officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

So sorry to hear. I worked For him at Hancocks and he was such a good boss. I remember I painted a plaque for him. "If life gives you lemons, make lemonade". I sure liked him. May God be with you at this time.

Ev was the dearest friend and co- worker I ever had. When I first met him he scared me. I was told he was a really mean man, hard to get along with. He was a Teddy Bear. I love you Ev. You are always in my heart.

My deepest sympathy to the family. I worked for Mr. C at Hancock Fabrics. He was a very kind and compassionate man...a very a nice man. God bless you all.
