Eunice Lee Hensley Studeny, age 92, of Port Neches, TX, died on Monday, December 25, 2017, in Pinehurst, TX, after a brief illness. She was born in Taft, TX, on May 12, 1925, the daughter of Otto and Jewel Neeley Hensley. Mrs. Studeny graduated from Wharton High School in 1943. She married Henry Edward Studeny on October 17, 1947. Once Mr. Studeny completed his service in the United States Air Force, the couple settled in Wharton, TX where she got a job as a telephone operator for the local Bell Telephone office. In 1957, they transferred to Jefferson County for Mr. Studenys job and settled in Port Neches, TX, where they raised a family and lived the rest of their lives. Mrs. Studeny was an avid sports fan keeping up with Port Neches-Groves athletics as well as college and professional teams. She read both local papers, front-to-back, on a daily basis to keep tabs on what was going on in the community. Mrs. Studeny was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother, Clyde Wayne Hensley, of Wharton, TX. She is survived by her son, Steve Studeny and his wife, Judi, of Orange, TX, and her son, Dean Studeny, of Austin, TX, grandson, Aaron Martin, of Port Neches, TX, and great-grandchildren Rylan Martin and Shalina Wells of Nederland, TX. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date per Mrs. Studenys wishes.
