Evelyn Joyce Logue, 84, of Port Neches passed away Monday, August 2, 2021. Evelyn was born August 6, 1936 in Arkansas to the late Daniel Leewright and Irma Smith Leewright. She was a 1954 graduate of Port Neches-Groves and a dedicated member of Magnolia Church in Port Neches. She taught Sunday school for over 50 years and was one of the remaining founding members of the church. Evelyn enjoyed writing poetry and loved dogwood trees.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Vernon Lee Logue; sister, Deloris Leewright; and son, Russell Logue.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Clint Logue and his wife, Edna of Port Neches, TX; Andrea Brown and her husband, James of Palmer, TX; and Dr. Jeffrey Logue and his wife, Tammy of Midlothian, TX; grandchildren, Shannon Logue, Caitlin Logue, Tyler Brown, Sara Brown and her husband, Josh; Ashtyn Logue and Brooklyn Logue. Evelyn is also survived by her sister, Faye Wilkerson of Newton, TX; best friends, Jeanette Winkle and Mr. Vick Kelly; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A gathering of friends and relatives will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Melancon’s Funeral Home. Funeral services for Ms. Evelyn will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 6, 2021, at Magnolia Church; 2215 Nall St., Port Neches, TX 77651. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
