Faye Marie Crowley

1937 ∼ 2023

Faye Marie Crowley

Faye M. Crowley, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, 86, of Nederland, Texas, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

Faye was born in Elton, LA, on March 24, 1937, to her loving parents Fabe and Ruth Finch. She attended school in Elton where she graduated as Valedictorian of her class. She moved to Texas to live with her Aunt Carolyn and family, attending Port Arthur College where she met her husband, Dan. They married in 1956 and had their daughter, Dana, in 1965. She began her career at Texaco and then moved to Exxon Mobil where she served as Plant Manager's Secretary and Employee Relations Coordinator. She was always ready to help employees, so much so that a slogan of recognition was created— “1-800-CALL-FAYE”. After her retirement from Exxon Mobil, always keen to keep her mind sharp and help others, she became a tax professional at H&R Block where she loved taking on tough cases and helping people save money. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Order of the Eastern Star as well as a CASA Volunteer.

Faye was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-four years, Daniel W. Crowley; brother: Harvey Finch; sister: Brenda Tamplin; and her brother-in-law, Ray Tamplin.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Dana Gray of Nederland TX; four grandchildren: Danielle Tiller and husband Roy, Zachary Smith, Caroline Cosio and husband Jake, and William Gray; three great-grandchildren: Aubrey Tiller, Oliver Tiller, and Holland Cosio; sisters-in-law: Janice Weitz and Mary Finch; nephew: Mark Tamplin and wife Angie; great-nephews: Ty Tamplin and wife Kylee and Trent Tamplin and wife Sara; and numerous cousins she loved very much.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Liberty Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in San Augustine, TX. Officiating will be Pastor Ron Hammonds.

Dana, I'm so sorry I couldn't make your mother's visitation due to obligations. Your mother was more than just my neighbor when I was growing up. She was always good to me and my family. Many times throughout my life, and especially during my military service, she compassionately took time from her own life to inform me of things going on with my family... important things that I certainly needed to know. Your mother was one of a handful of God sent souls that made up our neighborhood village that helped raise me and my brothers, and for that, I am forever grateful. Go with God Faye, and rejoice with Dan by your side again. ✝️
