Felix LaBorde, Jr., 76, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away on April 29, 2024, at Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. 

On Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 2:00 pm, will be a visitation with a funeral service beginning at 3:00 pm at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas. Father Joseph Sigur of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church will be officiating.

The burial will be on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 10:00 am at Greenlawn in Port Arthur, Texas. 

Born in Port Arthur, Texas on October 8, 1947, he was the son of Felix LaBorde, Sr., and Vernice LaBorde.  Felix worked in retail and was a longtime employee with K-Mart, Target, and Wal-Mart, until medical issues made retirement mandatory. He was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur. Felix was always trying to learn as much as he could through his travels and reading.  He enriched his life through learning.  He also loved to cook and was pleased when he could provide something special for someone.   

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Felix LaBorde, Sr., and Vernice LaBorde, his 2 sisters; Merlene Badgett, of Groves, Texas, and Marjorie Seaux, of Port Arthur, Texas, and his brother, Leland LaBorde of Houston, Texas.  

He is survived by his longtime friend, Daina Martinez, his caregiver, Essie Stevenson, many friends at O.W. Collins apartments, and a host of nieces and nephew.
