Ferdie Rider, 79, of Groves, Texas passed away Friday, January 25, 2019 at his home. He was born November 3, 1939 in Mamou, Louisiana to Atney Rider and Rose Viege Rider. Ferdie had lived in Groves since 1985 and was retired as a construction worker from Brown and Root after more than 20 years of service. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Mr. Bobby Henry officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be before the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Ferdie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beckie Daly Rider of Groves, TX, two daughters, Dayna Golden of Port Arthur, TX, and Rebecca Rider of Groves, TX, son, Neil Rider and wife Audrey of Groves, TX three brothers, Buddy Rider of Lake Charles, LA, Joseph Rider of Orangefield, TX, and Donald Rider of Lake Charles, LA, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth Ann Rider.
