Florence Norton Pinder Florence Norton Pinder, 88, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away at her home on Friday, August 12, 2016. She was born on November 10, 1927 in Milton, Louisiana to Willie A. Norton and Marie DuPerier Norton. Florence was a longtime resident of Port Arthur and a member of First Baptist Church of Port Arthur and Line Steppers. She had been employed by several agencies as an insurance clerk and retired after many years of service. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Jim Hamilton of First Baptist Church of Port Arthur officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Florence is survived by her husband of 66 years, Volney Pinder of Port Arthur, step daughter, Carolyn Daul and husband, Ken of Beaumont, four grandchildren, Mike Eaves and wife Sandy, David Eaves and wife Amanda, Megan Ultis and husband Jon, Kristen Daul, nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Fifty years ago Florence and Pinder were the witnesses at our courthouse wedding. Just the four of us and the judge. When we got back to the apartment, Florence came out with a beautifully wrapped package, "No bride should have a wedding without a wedding gift." Florence was a good woman - a good fiend.

Florence my friend, you have been a super great friend and a wonderful card player!! Will sure miss you but I know God has other plans for you. Not to mention that you are getting to Love on your little one that went to heaven years ago. Pinder will be fine and taken care of. You get some rest, this is your time! Love you
