Florrie Lee Duplant Hebert, 91, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.
Florrie was born on September 5, 1930, in Ridge, Louisiana to Lacy Bell Burke Caldwell and Luther Herbert Caldwell. She and her family went to Trinity Baptist Church in Port Arthur. She later joined the 7th Street Baptist Church in Nederland with her husband. Florrie was a housewife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who took care of her family and loved them dearly. She was known for her sewing; she loved cooking for family gatherings, she also loved to read and do word games, going to family reunions but she was mainly known for her dancing.
Survivors include her children, Herbert Allen Duplant and is wife Nanci of Richardson, Texas, Debra Jan Gregory and her husband Larry of Nederland and Bessie Gale Plain and her husband Rick of Crosby, Texas; seven grandchildren, Dale Sullivan Jr., Christopher Sullivan, Tracey Dickey, April Cloud, Crystal Broussard, Kevin Hall and Danny Hall; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Florrie also leaves behind her ex-husband, Joseph T (Tony) Hebert of Nederland and her niece, Shirl Jackson of Port Arthur who was like a daughter to her.
Florrie was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Lee and Loretta Fisher; two great grandsons, Tyler Clark and Kevin Hall, Jr. and her husband, George G. Duplant who passed away in 1999.
A visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland with a Service to Honor the Life of Florrie Lee Duplant Hebert to take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
Serving as Pallbearers will be, James Broussard, Larry Gregory, Luke Lindley, Mike Lumpkin, Dale Sullivan, Jr. and Blake Sullivan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Hebert, Ian Broussard, Ronnie Lee, Dennis Lee, Bryton Sullivan and Dale Sullivan.
