Frances Marie Delahoussaye Hill Albers

1930 ∼ 2026

Frances Albers, a deeply loved and endlessly loving soul, passed away surrounded by the family she cherished so dearly, known for her gentle and humble nature as well as unwavering consideration for others, Frances lived a life rooted in kindness, patience, and quiet joy. She was a beautiful lady, both inside as well as out.

A devoted schoolteacher, Frances poured her heart into shaping young minds. Her classroom was a place of encouragement and curiosity, where every child felt seen and valued. Her legacy lives on in the countless students whose lives she touched with compassion and steady guidance. Her philosophy, “You can’t teach them till you reached them”, was exemplified by her daily preparation of a box full of brown bag lunches daily, prior to the free lunch program, for students that did not have a lunch.

Outside of the classroom Frances loved life. She found peace and purpose in her garden. Roses were her pride - she nurtured them with the same care she gave to the people in her life. Her yard bloomed with color, but it was her presence that made it feel alive. Whether tending to a new bud or sharing gardening tips with her neighbor, Frances radiated a happiness that was simple, genuine, and contagious. She was a fabulous cook – her chicken pies at were a Christmas tradition until the year she forgot to take them out of the freezer and we had them on New Year’s Day. She was the “Queen” of shopping, most especially at Dillard’s and loved her some Estee’ Lauder!

Family was the center of her world! She was the one who remembered every birthday and made every gathering feel warmer. Her laughter filled rooms, her hugs lingered, and her joy in being with those she loved was unmistakable.

Frances leaves behind a legacy of love, gentleness, and quiet strength. She will be remembered not only for the life she lived and the example she was, but for the way she made others feel – valued, supported, and deeply cared for, like the roses she tendered with such devotion.

Frances is survived by her children, Ann Daniels and her husband, Billy, Mark Hill and his wife, Odette, and Thad Hill and his wife, Dana. Frances was blessed with grandchildren, Aaron Daniels and his wife, Alysha, Joshua Daniels and his wife, Tara, and Hope Hill, great-grandchildren, Alexis Daniels married to Shaquille Magee, Aspen Daniels and fiancé, Jacob Harvey, Austyn Daniels, and Colton Daniels, and also, great great-grandchildren, Ayden Magee, Axton Harvey, and Audyn Harvey.

Frances was preceded in death by her husbands, Eddie Hill and Howard Curtis Albers, and her parents, Oswald and Jeanne Delahoussaye, and her brothers, Raymond Delahoussaye and Gerard Delahoussaye.

I had the pleasure of teaching with Fran back in the early 1980s and she was a genuine joy. She was as beautiful inside as she was out. I looked forward to her twinkling eyes and smile, and words of wisdom. Heartfelt sympathy.
