Mr. Bodin was a wonderful guy. I'm 62 years old and not a month goes by that I don't remember how much he tried to help us as kids and teenagers in groves. My father was a very good person at heart but suffered with a bad case of alcoholism for many years that took a great toll on our families well being. Many a Sunday was spent trying to find our only car and where it was left or wrecked. Mr bodin would come and get us to get the car so many times versus calling a wrecker. He would come by to make sure we didn't need anything or see if he could help if my dad had been picked up and arrested. He came by often and visited and was a welcome sight and someone to look up to. Anytime I hear someone bashing a policeman I have to wonder why they couldn't have had one like him to change their minds. I was blessed as a kid to have him in my corner. Many thanks to him. My prayers and condolences to his family. Charlie Holmes

To the Bodin Family, I have so many fond memories of Bo. As a kid, he was that (rare)adult that actually paid attention to us (kids) and cared what we had to say. He always made me feel like an adult when I was around him. I cannot think of a time that I didnt see him smiling or making someone else smile or laugh. One of those people that felt like family. I will sure miss him and wish there were more people like him around! Thinking of you all!

They don't have old timers like him anymore. He left memories as one of the old fashion police oficers that don't come around very often and I doubt there will be another one like him. My kids got to visit him at his home on Pleasure Island and they enjoyed their visit. They were worried about him after we left but his life span was far from over at that time. Farewell Francis and may we meet again.

When I was growing up in Groves, Officer Bodin was a kind and firm hand for me and all the neighborhood boys. He made small town policing, and all policing, what it should be, an extension of community values. God bless him and God bless his family in your time of loss. He was a wonderful man who used his role to improve and protect the lives our community. The world needs more like him. I'll always remember him.

My heart is breaking. I've known Bo and his family for many years. He was the kindest and sweetest man. The last time I saw him was at my mother's funeral. It meant so much to me. I will cherish that memory. Praying for the family. Love to all.

This is a very sad day for me and so many others. The BODIN'S were so instrumental to me as friends and family. Bobby, for his patients he had when Buddy and I worked together or didn't work. For Buddy, for being such a good friend to everyone and for BO, what can I say, Andy of Mayberry(Groves). Everyone loved and respected BO. BO'S humor;Christmas EVE,1976. I was with the Sheriff's Dept.(Day off) but working w/BO. We just finished working my first Homicide/Suicide around 2am and then went to Shipley's Donuts in front of Jefferson City Shopping Center for some coffee. I'm feeling a little qezzie and the first thing BO did was bite into a jelly donut and let the red jelly run out the side of his mouth. BO was one of a kind and will be missed by FAMILY and all that ever came in contact with him. Rest in Peace my good friend and GOD BLESS. Michael Smith
