Francisco Jose Rivas, Sr., 67, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Francisco was born November 16, 1946 in Nicaragua to Louis Rivas and Rosa Gaitan Rivas. He moved to this area in 1986 from Nicaragua and was a member of La Iglesia Del Pueblo. He was married to Elia Morales Rivas and they raised their family together. He was preceded in death by his son, Abraham Rivas. Survivors include his loving wife, Elia of Port Arthur; daughter, Jahaira "Gaby" Rivas of Port Arthur; sons, Francisco Rivas, Jr. of Beaumont, Maynor J. Rivas and wife Elizabeth of Bridge City; grandchildren, Kellie Rivas and David Rivas; and two sisters. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 13, 2013 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Virgil Illa officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
