Frank "Mike" Stanfield

1931 ∼ 2021

Frank M. Stanfield, known as Mike to his family and friends, passed into Heaven, Friday, March 19, 2021.

Mike lived a happy full life. He was born in Beaumont, Texas to Chester and Edna (Toups) Stanfield on November 24, 1931.

He went to school in Beaumont and graduated from Beaumont High School. He had many friends and neighbors that he shared his youth with in the old neighborhood.

In 1956 he married the love of his life, Margie, and they had celebrated 65 years of marriage. He had many fun chapters in his life....he went to the Army and they lived in El Paso after he got out of the Army. He taught school there in El Paso. He taught school for 30 years, and counted that as a great chapter of his life. He so enjoyed the students he worked with over those 30 years, spending the last 20 years at Port Neches Groves High School.

He enjoyed woodworking, reading, and gardening. But most of all, Mike loved his family dearly and was a great storyteller. All that knew him have a story to tell on him as well.

He had a big personality and rarely met a stranger. He loved and counted Kevin as his "son" and even gave Kevin his riding lawnmower and plow. Anyone that would listen got to hear about his grandsons, and their antics. He loved those boys so much, and adored their wives. And he was so proud of his great grandchildren. He loved to have them visit and enjoyed watching them play.

Mike was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Port Neches.

A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Aaron Little of Southside Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Holly Grove Cemetery in Livingston, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and both of his brothers, Pat Stanfield and Howard Stanfield.

Mike is survived by his wife Margie, and his daughter Jeanie Pierce and her husband Kevin of Groves, grandsons, Charlie Pierce and wife Nicole of Missouri City, and Garrett Pierce and wife Allison of Orange. And his pride and joy, the great grands, Mason and Ember Pierce. In addition are brother-in-law, Junius Cude, inlaws, Joe and Delma Petty, and sister-in-law, Iris Stanfield and several nieces and nephews.

Mike's last few days were spent in the gracious and loving care of April and Tasha. We will forever be grateful for their love and support during the last days of his life. We want to extend a deep and heartfelt thanks to April and Tasha. Also, thanks goes to the amazing and wonderful team at Heart of Texas Hospice. Justin and Dustin, Mike's nurses from Heart of Texas Hospice, were so amazing and so excellent in their caregiving. We could not have gone through this valley without them at our side, helping us every moment.

Condolences

Although we never actually met Mr. Stanfield, Jeanie has spoken of her Dad many times. We feel certain she has many of his quick come-backs in her personality! We send our love and prayers to Mrs. Stanfield, Jeanie (our sweet friend), and her family. According to April & Tasha, Mike reminded her of Grumps at times. (My dad who also made big impressions on others!) Hopefully, these two loving fathers are meeting in the Heavenly realms now! Mark & Beryl Miller

Mike (Frank Mitchel Stanfield) was a beloved brother-in-law to me along with his loving wife, Margie and sweet daughter Jeanie Pierce. His life has meant so much to his family, friends and loved ones. His impact will go on for generations in the students he mentored and his family and friends. I know there is celebration in Heaven as he's welcomed home. He will be missed nightly here on earth.

Sending our love, prayers and deepest sympathy to your family on the passing of Mr. Stanfield. Allison shared some of the experiences she had with Mike with us while on her visits home, he certainly sounded like a great man that we were fortunate enough to quickly meet during our trip to Texas for Allison and Garrett's wedding. Sincerely , Ann and John Rosengren (Allison's aunt and uncle, Hanwell, New Brunswick, Canada)
