Frank Watson, Jr.

1930 ∼ 2020

Frank Watson, Jr. of Groves, Texas passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Bonne Vie in Port Arthur, Texas. He was born February 19, 1930 in Center, Texas to Frank Watson, Sr. and Lola Forbus Watson and was a resident of the Port Arthur-Groves area for 72 years. Frank was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Groves, formerly Friendship Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a deacon for over 50 years. He had a passion for serving the Lord by taking care of the church properties and the needs of his church family. He enjoyed anything outdoors - fishing, gardening or just sitting on his back porch with a cup of coffee and watching the birds. What brought him the greatest joy was time spent with family! His sweetheart, children and grandchildren were the light of his life! Frank retired as an operator in 1988 from Texaco after 34 years of service. He proudly served in the U.S Army during the Korean Conflict in Germany from 1951-1953. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Sally Watson of Groves; two daughters, Kathy Hendon and husband Kirk of Groves, and Linda Belaire and husband Kenneth of Lago Vista; five grandchildren Greg Hendon, Troy Hendon, Matthew Hendon, Stephen Perello, Katherine Hitchcock; and seven great-grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 12 noon, Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Grace Baptist Church in Groves followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Reverend Dennis Whitmire officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. The family would like to thank the many friends, family members and care givers who have supported them during Franks Illness.
